What to Know Before You Start Weight Loss Injections: A Physician-Led Guide

Starting a weight loss journey can feel overwhelming — especially if you’ve tried diets, trainers, and meal plans without seeing the scale move. At Rose Injectables®, our physician-led medical weight loss program is built around one truth: women’s bodies don’t lose weight the same way men’s do, and the research that shaped most weight loss advice was done on men. We do things differently. Here is what every woman should know before her first visit.

Set Your Kitchen Up for Success

Before your first appointment, take a look at what’s actually in your home. Familiarize yourself with high-protein foods so you can maximize your results from day one. Weight loss injectables work best when paired with adequate protein intake — your body needs the building blocks to preserve muscle while fat comes off.

Add weight training, not just cardio. Lifting weights protects bone strength and muscle mass — two things many women lose during perimenopause and during rapid weight loss. You don’t need to become a powerlifter; a few sessions a week of resistance work makes a real difference.

What Happens on Your First Visit

Expect more than a quick consult. On your first visit, we will likely draw labs so we can evaluate your baseline health status and make sure there is no underlying reason your body might resist weight loss. We also evaluate your hormones — many women are deficient in the hormones necessary for building muscle and protecting bone strength, and that gap quietly sabotages weight loss efforts.

We check vital signs at every visit to make sure you’re properly hydrated and tolerating the program well. This is not a mail-order, set-it-and-forget-it injection plan. It is a medical program led by physicians and clinicians who have walked the same road.

What Makes the Rose Injectables® Program Different

Most weight loss injection programs hit about 10% total body weight loss on average. Our patients consistently exceed that — and we believe the reason comes down to three things:

  • Accountability and physical exams. We map out your journey, track your results, evaluate labs annually, and check in often.
  • Providers who get it. Dr. Liz Knies lost 40 pounds. Sherrie lost 50. Chandler lost 35. We know what success looks like — and what to do when the scale stalls.
  • A real maintenance pathway. Many of our patients are now in maintenance and have no interest in going back to how they were. The program flexes to weekly or biweekly visits depending on what’s right for you.

One More Thing: Loose Skin Is Solvable

As weight comes off, some loose skin is normal. The best time to combat it is while you’re losing weight, not after. Most of our weight loss patients use EvolveX body contouring at their weekly check-ins to tighten skin and build muscle without an extra trip to the gym. When you’re at your goal weight and there are stubborn pockets that won’t budge, BodyTite is our same-day, awake, in-office skin-tightening and liposuction procedure — typically used for arms, abdomen, flanks, legs, and the chin.

Ready to Start?

For too long, women have been told they lack willpower. We know that’s not the case. With the right labs, the right hormones, the right protein and strength training — and a physician-led program that adjusts with you — weight loss is achievable, and so is keeping it off.
